Rehearsals in the sunshine

Rehearsals continuing for "Arthur, King of the Britons", ready for our opening show on Thursday evening. It's always good to have a sword fight in the sunshine...

The Treehouse Sweatshop

I feel like I've barely left the building for more than a week now. Costuming for 'Arthur, King of the Britons' needs to be finished by this weekend, and I'm feeling the deadline breathing down my neck now! It never fails to amaze me just how much time costume making actually takes. Really, you'd think I'd know by now. Anyway, thanks in large part to the handy hands of Ilse and Heide, we are slowly getting there. ...

Learning how to die with style

Pete Beebee, master choreograher of the medieval fight scene, popped into rehearsals for King Arthur yesterday to share his skills. Which are mostly about dying in style. Pete has found us some wonderful heavy medieval broadswords so that we can get that lovely ‘clang clang clang‘ of a great sword fight. Staged in-the-round, not sanitised and tucked away on a distant stage, fight scenes are so immersive it almost feels like you are part of the action. Great fun, though Pete is always a pro and won’t let us actually kill each other in rehearsals. Save it for the stage chaps.... Click here to contact Pete
