Tales from the Treehouse - Episode 14 – Beowulf and Grendel

Beowulf is an Old English epic poem, set in Scandinavia and written around 1000 years ago. We’ve split this story into 2 parts – todays episode is about Beowulfs confrontation with the monster Grendel – and then his mother, a monster in her own right, who comes seeking revenge.

No-one knows if Beowulf actually existed, or who wrote the poem. We can look at other literature from around the same time, or archaeological evidence – what do you think?

If you have any requests for Myths and Legends, please do send them in!

Told by Ben Lindsey-Clark, Tales from the Treehouse invite you to be swept away by your own imagination!

Stories that we listen to (rather than watch) are immersive and engaging. The listeners' imagination is free to draw its own imagery and create its own world, inspiring future interaction with the story and its characters.

Since we're working from home for a while - quite a challenge for a theatre company! - there will be plenty more stories coming! Please subscribe to our blog to keep up to date with the latest episode!
